Steven Kryger Recognized as OUTstanding LGBT+ Executive Role Model for Second Year in a Row

Steven Kryger, an 11-year veteran of the firm who heads the research team of our founder and co-CIO Ray Dalio and serves as Team Lead, Emerging Markets Research, has been named to the 2021 OUTstanding LGBTQ+ Executive Role Model List, supported by Yahoo Finance. First named to the annual list in 2020, for the second year in a row this award recognizes Steven's efforts to make the workplace more welcoming and inclusive for all, within Bridgewater and beyond.

After graduating from Yale, Steven joined Bridgewater and began working with some of our largest sovereign wealth fund and pension provider clients. He went on to lead Ray Dalio’s research team, where he was the main co-author on Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises. Steven participates on Bridgewater’s Investment Committee and in addition to his research on emerging markets, he is a regular author of the firm’s Daily Observations, and helps to oversee the professional development of the firm’s investment community.

Throughout that time, Steven has consistently made advancing diversity and inclusion at Bridgewater a top priority. Early on in his career he founded the firm’s LGBTQIA+ Network and now serves as its senior sponsor. In addition to helping launch Bridgewater’s companywide DEI strategy, he is jointly responsible for DEI in our Investment Engine department, where he has focused on representation and transparency in compensation and promotion. Steven is also a founding board member of the New York chapter of Out Investors, whose mission is to make the direct investing industry more welcoming for the LGBTQIA+ community, is a volunteer firefighter, and serves on the board of Community Resources for Justice, which runs residential programs for individuals leaving incarceration.
